New Year Resolutions

New Year Resolution:

New Year Resolutions are sometimes hard to keep, I have only kept a couple in my life. Tonight is New Years Eve and I'm make my list. This year I'm trying to focus on making myself better, building onto hobbies and keeping up with things I have started.

Number 1:
My first resolution is to start feeling better about myself. My goal is not to lose weight but to feel better about how I already look. I want to build up my self confidence.

Number 2:
My second resolution may sound weird or stupid to some people but I am girl in Ga raised by a former marine. I want to expand my weapons knowledge and skills. I want to become a better shooter with guns and be able to learn more about different types of guns. I also want to take up archery, I want to learn how to aim and shoot an arrow, because you never know what is going to happen. I also want to learn new weapons, maybe learn to protect myself with whatever I may have on hand.

Number 3:
My third resolution is simple I want to make more time to read books, in 2012 I probably read only less then 15 books. So I want to more then triple that in 2013.

Number 4:
My fourth resolution is to blog more. I said that last year and about 2 months in I started to slack and then pretty much stopped all together. I have so many ideas and thoughts that I want to put out for people to read so I'm going to blog at least a couple times a week.

Number 5:
My last resolution is to be more adventurous in 2013. I love hiking and nature walks but I want to go skydiving and mountain climbing. I want to have the courage to do more things and just have fun while I'm young. I also want to travel, there are so many places in the world I want to see.

So those are my 5 New Year Resolutions. Some people may think they are small or crazy but these are some of the things I want to focus on for 2013. I'm hoping next New Years Eve I will be able to write a post saying that I accomplished all the these things. I hope everybody makes a list of resolutions of things they truly want to accomplish and I hope everyone has a great New Years Eve. If you like my posts be sure to comment and subscribe so you can see all my new ones that I will be posting soon. Thank you!

Cold Sore gone fast

Cold Sore Remedy:

Two weeks ago I woke up with a small bump on my lower lip, it was in a horrible spot cause it was right there in the middle for the whole world to see. After just about 2 or 3 hours after waking up the bump doubled almost tripled in size. I figured I had to do something fast to get rid of it. There are lots of myths and theories out there about how to get rid of cold sores fast. I read a couple of articles online and pieced a couple things together to make my own remedy. And it actually worked!! :)
Now I have only done this once but after about a day and a half of this treatment the cold sore was gone. My lip was still healing but the actual cold sore was gone.

The first thing I did was started taking two vitamins. L-Lysine 1000 mg by Spring Valley which you can pick up at Walmart. I took one of these a day, but the 1000 mg are pretty huge so please break it in half before you attempt to swallow it.

The second Vitamin I took was B-Complex by Nature Made which I also get at Walmart. I would suggest taking both of these Vitamins with something other then water because they do have a bad taste.

I took one of each of those Vitamins a day. And I applied a cold sore cream called Novitra to the cold sore area a couple times a day. I bought my Novitra at Riteaid. This helped with the actual cold sore virus and the symptoms that come with cold sores, such as itching and burning.
Now here comes the part that is different then most remedies. Every time I put something on my lip I would alternate between the Novitra and my chap stick which is the Mentha Lip Balm stick in Cinnamint which I got from Bath and Body works. DO NOT put this on your lip straight from the tube. That is just getting bacteria on it every time. Wash your hands, use a clean finger to get a little of the chap stick and put it on the cold sore area. Then wash your hands again.

I don't know how this combination fights it so well but the cold sore was gone very quickly. My lip was a little dry and flaky where the cold sore use to be but some regular chap stick fixed that in about a day or two. But the cold sore was gone.
So if you suffer from cold sores and want to try something to get rid of it fast, try my idea. It helped me so hopefully it will help you. And If you do try it please tell me how it went and what you think of it.
Thank you for reading Have a great day!

Fall in love with Fall

Fall In Love With Fall
I love fall weather, It's my favorite time of the year and not just because of Halloween.
Although, Halloween is my favorite holiday. lol
I love Fall because I love watching the leaves change colors, I love dressing in layers, and I love cuddling with my boyfriend on a chilly night. I get really excited just seeing fall colors and decorations at Walmart.
What is your favorite thing about fall?
Here are a couple outfits I have fallen in love with for fall. All of these outfits are found on Pinterest.

This first one is really cute to me cause it kind of reminds me of fairytales, because of the red, blue and the wolf on the shirt. And I just finished the first Season of "Once Upon a Time" on netflix so this outfit really reminds me of that show.

This second outfit stuck with me because I love large sweaters during the winter, and I love that they added the brown boots to it. I love boots for fall.

Not much to say about this third outfit except I love all the pieces.

And the last outfit is awesome because of the colors and the tribal print on the sweatshirt. I love tribal prints for fall.

So what are your favorite outfits for fall? What trends are you loving?
And check me out on pinterest if you like theses looks. My name on pinterest is Lori Whalen.

Does anybody remember this little guy?

When I was little I had a lot of keroppi stuff. I recently came across a picture of him and my kid side came out. I used the picture for my cell phones background. I am truly a kid at heart. Let me know if you had a favorite character as a kid and if seeing it brings back those memories.

Introduction

I have had several blogs before but I never seemed to be able to keep up with them, I would lose interest or ideas. Hopefully this one will be different. Life by Lori is not about any specific subject, I'm hoping to post all different kind of things about my life. Maybe some photos, recipes, and even crafts I am up to. I have a lot of hobbies so I am always up to something. A few of my favorite hobbies are music, writing, dance, painting, biking, baking, and more. So I am hoping to incorporate a lot of different things into this blog.
Now I am trying to venture into trying to start a small business of my own that would help people with their feelings, emotions and everyday thoughts. I am going to be taking courses in Marketing and Entrepreneurship so hopefully that will help me on my new venture. I might post about my venture and trying to achieve my goals but I haven't decided on that subject yet.
So for now this is my introduction to Life by Lori, More blogs to come soon.
